Funding & Assistance Programs

Government & Public Funding

We assist eligible patients with funding applications through Ontario’s Assistive Devices Program (ADP), Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), Ontario Works, Non Insured Health Benefits (NIHB), Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP), and Veterans Affairs Canada.

Insurance & Third Party Funding

We work with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), private health insurance providers, employer benefit plans, and motor vehicle accident insurance claims to help coordinate prosthetic and orthotic funding.

Additional Financial Assistance

Additional support may be available through The War Amps, including the Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program, adult amputee assistance, and other specialized community funding programs.

Understanding Your Funding

How much will I have to pay?

Your out of pocket costs depend on the device prescribed, your funding eligibility, and the coverage available through government programs or private insurance. Our team will explain applicable funding and any remaining costs before proceeding with treatment.

How much will my prosthetic or orthotic device cost?

Costs vary depending on the type of device, its components, complexity, and individual clinical requirements. Following your assessment, we can provide a detailed estimate and review potential funding options.

Do I need a doctor’s prescription?

A prescription may be required depending on the type of device and the funding program involved. You can book an initial consultation without a prescription, and our team will explain any documentation needed to proceed.

How long does funding approval take?

Approval timelines vary depending on the funding agency, type of device, and documentation required. Some applications can be processed relatively quickly, while others require additional review or prior authorization. We will help you understand the process and keep you informed of your application’s progress.

What about private insurance?

Many extended health benefit plans provide coverage for eligible prosthetic and orthotic devices. Coverage limits, prescription requirements, and reimbursement amounts vary by insurer and policy. We can provide estimates and supporting documentation to assist with your claim.

Are there additional assistance programs?

Yes. Depending on your circumstances, additional financial assistance may be available through The War Amps, government benefit programs, or other charitable organizations. Our team can help identify potential options and explain the application process.
